2009 Buck Ridge Results

Results have been posted from today's Buck Ridge Race.

NorCal MTB Racing This Weekend: March 7 - 8, 2009

It's the first full weekend of multiple races throughout the region this weekend:

• 03/07/09 (Saturday): Sand Hill Spring Gravity (4X): As we talked about yesterday, this race is a goer. This is the first race in the series and it will be a Mountaincross/4X race. It'll set you back $35 (plus $5 if you haven't renewed your USA Cycling license) and racing starts at 11 AM in Brentwood (East Bay).
• 03/07/09 (Saturday): Chanoko Mountain Bike Duathlon #3 (MTB Duathlon): The Chaoko MTB Duathlon is the lesser known sibling of TBF's MTB Challenge races. Similar course, but your MTB racing will be bookended with running (one run before, one after). Probably fun ... if you like being off your bike. It starts at 9AM at Folsom Lake near Sacramento.
• 03/08/09 (Sunday): MTB Challenge #3 (XC): This is the last race in the 2009 MTB Challenge series, which we have covered at length. I'll try and have a trail preview (after this week's monsoons) later today or tomorrow.
• 03/08/09 (Sunday): Buck Ridge Race 2009 (XC): Sick Promotions has brought back the Buck RIdge Race for 2009. It'll start at 11 AM outside Fresno.

It looks like the weather is going to be great this weekend, so make sure and get out to support your local race scene.

Buck Ridge Race Returns for 2009

It looks like the Buck Ridge race has outlived SpatDog and will be contested again this year:

BUCK RIDGE LIVES ON!

The Buck Ridge XC Race is central California's premier course. The ideal figure 8 course with a mix of rolling single track, fire road and few technical sections makes for an exciting race for both racers and spectators. The start/finish area is conveniently located next to registration, parking and picnic areas. Come on out and enjoy the green rolling hills, scenic vistas and first class racing.

The race has formerly hosted by Spatdog and Tri-Sport. Sick Promotions is keeping the race alive. The race format is very similar to years past. If you enjoyed the race in the past you won’t be disappointed in 2009.

Buck Ridge #1 Results

I haven't seen any pictures, but Spatdog.com has posted Buck Ridge #1 results from last weekend. Congrats to J. Root and Amy Fergson who won the Men's and Women's Elite races, respectively.
