Sugar Mountain Bows Out of 2008 NORBA

Just about two week after the preliminary 2008 NORBA (NMBS) schedule was posted, there has already been a change:
"Sugar Mountain Resort is committed to growing its mountain bike program for many years to come. As a result, we have made some short term changes. Sugar Mountain Resort will not host the Showdown at Sugar National Mountain Bike Series event in 2008. The decision was not easy and one we labored over for quite a while. However, we will take a fresh look at hosting an event in 2009. In the mean time, please continue to ride the trails on Sugar Mountain." (Via Sugar Mountain Resort)
I am sure that this won't be the only change that we see in the NMBS schedule.

How accurate is the rest of the schedule? According to usacycling.org the nationals are being held at Mount Snow, Vt. July 17 - 20th.

The USA Cycling Nationals in Vermont are not part of the NMBS (Norba Mountain Bike Series). Back in the day, USA Cycling and NMBS were basically the same thing. These days, USA Cycling and NMBS are completely separate. USA Cycling is the US accrediting body for UCI and the Olympics, while NMBS/Norba is just a race series in the US (similar to the AMBC series).

Having said that, the NORBA schedule is not published and will almost certainly change before the series starts. I am on the promoter's press release list, so I will have updates when they happen.
