ROADTRIP: CrankWorx Colorado

So this is a bit of a roadtrip and lack British Columbia's Canadian-ness, but should be a really good time . . .
Whistler Resort will unleash their legendary formula for throwing the world’s best freeride mountain bike festival south of the Canadian border when they partner with Winter Park Resort to produce Crankworx Colorado in Winter Park, Colorado July 5-7, 2007.

The event line-up will include a Cross-Country race, a downhill event modeled after the notorious Air Downhill, a Super D, Big Air and a Slopestyle with the course designed by John Cowan. Cowan is one of the most recognizable riders in dirt jumping and builder of the Whistler Blackcomb Mountain Bike Park’s Kona Jump Jam, and the world-renowned Hell Track I in San Diego, CA and Hell Track II in Kamloops, BC.

Known for its close proximity to Denver, Winter Park Resort’s ease of access still manages to remain a world away from the every day hustle and bustle. Home to over 50 miles of lift-accessible mountain bike trails, Colorado’s longest Alpine Slide, and an abundance of music and food festivals, Winter Park Resort offers the perfect summer escape.

This sounds like it could be kick-ass. Thanks to Decline Magazine for the heads up.
