Wilderness First Aid Training Coming to Specialized HQ

A key part of MTB (and MTB racing) is self-reliance. While we focus most of our self-reliance on things like bike maintenance and food, it is almost inevitable that sometime, somewhere (probably far, far from help) we may need first aid -- for ourselves or a fellow rider. In that spirit, Specialized is sponsoring Wilderness First Aid Training:
Join the Specialized Advocacy Fund and Foster Calm - First Aid and Leadership Trainings for an innovative Wilderness First Aid Training! This 16-hour training is designed to prepare you to confidently and effectively respond to injuries and illness that can occur out on the trails. The training will focus on staying calm, making good decisions, and relevant hands-on practice. Upon successful completion, each participant will receive a Wilderness First Aid (WFA) Certification valid for 3 years.

TOPICS COVERED
• Managing an accident scene out on the trail
• Patient assessment
• Shock & bleeding
• Head & spinal injuries
• Wound care
• Musculoskeletal injuries

• And much more
